Stanbridge East train station WALKING TOUR OF STANBRIDGE EAST: - All age groups, all year

This program consists of a walk through the historic village of Stanbridge East. It gives a sense of Stanbridge East's history through its homes, churches, its stores, its schools, its mill, its commons and its cemeteries. It suggests how people have worked, shopped, played, loved and worshipped over two centuries.

Certain old landmarks and sites have disappeared. By looking closely at outbuildings, remains, and open spaces, we can recapture a sense of the forms, colours and ideas of beauty important to villagers who now rest in its several cemeteries.

A century ago, many of the open spaces in the village e.g. along River street, were the sites of homes and shops.

The Walking tour Booklet is available year round and is available in both French and English. Fee: $2.00
