AN EXCITING SEASON AHEAD
The Missisquoi Museum is heading into a very exciting 2011 season featuring special visitors, major repairs to important elements, an increased attendance and several greatly appreciated fall activities.
Even before the official opening date, a group from the press and a television crew were welcomed to the sites. Four journalists from the western Canadian provinces, guided by Eastern Townships Tourism Office, made their first stop at the Walbridge Barn and were very impressed by this unique building and the quality of its agriculture exhibit. Also, the Missisquoi Museum was featured in a television series on Canal Évasion called: "Un dimanche à la campagne". Broadcasted on Friday evenings at 6:30 p.m., the programme on Stanbridge East was aired on May 6th and reruns on the following Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at different times.
At the end of the month, a class of First Nations students will attend an education program activity with their school exchange hosts from Bedford. A variety of interesting school activities are offered by the Museum and may even be taken directly to the classrooms, a percentage of expenses eligible for a grant from the Ministry of Culture in its "Culture à l'école" programme.
