27th ANNUAL APPLE PIE FESTIVAL - Sunday, September 20th
The Missisquoi Historical Society invites everyone to attend its 27th Annual Apple Pie Festival on the grounds of the Missisquoi Museum at The admission fee, of $7.00 for adults, $2.00 for children 10 years and under,includes apple pie with ice cream, coffee, tea or apple juice, and a visit to the Museum. Live entertainment, horse drawn wagon ride, antique agricultural equipment display, face painting and petting zoo throughout the day as well. Come for the Day - Rain or Shine. The Museum opens at 10 a.m. Enjoy a visit to the Museum and a stroll around the historic village of Stanbridge East. Bring a picnic lunch to eat on the Museum grounds or go to the Soup Luncheon beginning at noon at the Memorial Hall. The Apple Pie Festival commences at 1:30 at which time you can eat some of the best apple pie served in the Eastern Townships. SILENT AUCTION Sunday, November 15th, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
(Stanbridge Ridge Chapel donated by Diana Dyer) The fun and fast-paced Silent Auction of the Missisquoi Historical Society is returning on Sunday, November 15th. This auction will benefit the work of the historical society including the opening of the historic 12-sided Walbridge Barn in May 2010 complete with the agricultural collection of the Missisquoi Museum. The auction will be held at the Memorial Hall in Stanbridge East QC beginning at 1:00 p.m. Up for bid will be art work and handicrafts, antiques, entertainment tickets and hospitality gifts, volunteer services, local wine and baked goods. Thanks in part to great community support from local businesses, merchants and artisans, the Silent Auction has been an extremely successful fundraiser and popular event since 1999.
