The Missisquoi Historical Society MISSION STATEMENT: The Missisquoi Historical Society is dedicated to the preservation, interpretation and presentation of the history of Missisquoi County. The Missisquoi Historical Society was founded in 1899 and was incorporated in 1976. It is a non-profit organization comprised of individuals who are interested in the historic development of Missisquoi County, the surrounding areas and the Eastern Townships of Quebec. The Missisquoi Historical Society collects, preserves, researches, exhibits and publishes items of historical interest pertaining to this region. This ongoing mandate to preserve the heritage of Missisquoi County has resulted in an active and progressive society which is open to any individual who shares in the interests and purpose of the Society. MEMBERS: Your help is needed in preserving and continuing the contribution of the Missisquoi Historical Society to the heritage and cultural fabric of Missisquoi County and the Eastern Townships. Your membership helps to accomplish this task. Membership fees are used to help offset operating costs. More important however, is your participation as a member in Missisquoi Historical Society and your encouragement of others to become associated with the Society. Your membership, and your interest enable the Missisquoi Historical Society to continue to be a distinctive and active reminder of the historical cultural past of Missisquoi County and to play an increasingly important role in the life of this area today.
